No HDMI output :(

Fri Jul 06, 2012 12:27 pm

Hey, I have got this problem where if i connect my raspberry pi to my benq g2222hdl monitor that i usually use for my pc i do not get any sort of picture and the screen doesn't even show any sign of communicating with the Pi, i know the cable is not broken as when i use the same HDMI to DVI cable to either of the graphics cards in my pc i get a connection with it and it works fine.

Now i know the pi is not broken as when i connect it to my sony bravia 40" tv downstairs with a direct hdmi to hdmi cable it works fine and i can see the command line and i can startx etc.

Now my problem is i have read many threads about adding hdmi_safe_mode=0 etc etc into a config.txt file now where do i find this config.txt file??? and what commands should i try after finding the config .txt file?? e.g? hdmi_mode=0 or whatever?

Any help would be greatly appreciated?
