Pi network services stop

Fri Feb 27, 2015 3:08 pm

Hi Everybody,

I'm loving my new pi but got an annoying issue on network services.

Every x minutes (usually under 5) SSH/SFTP/Apache all seems to stop working on the network. SSH gives connection refused/SFTP gives connection timeout/Chrome gives 'Connection Unavailable'
However I can still ping the IP (192.168.1.100) throughout this time.

Then all services come back online.

Mysterious! Any ideas? I'm running the Pi/Desktop through a TP-Link switch, which is then connected by Cat6 to the router.

There is no certainty that the issue is inside the Pi.

You could run tcpdump on the pi and see what is actually passing on the Pi's interface.

Investigate the resulting capture using wireshark on the Pi.
Cheers Harry
