rasp b+ overclocked USB power question

Sun Feb 22, 2015 12:49 pm

Hi folks,

just bought my first used raspB+ after using the B model for some time.
And i ran Into a USB power issue I do not fully understand so maybe you can Help me out.

I over clocked the B+ with this lines in config.txt:
arm_freq=950
core_freq=450
sdram_freq=450
over_voltage=2

So far so common. But with all my USB power adapter with >= 1A I get the low power rainbow in the right corner while booting.
And I tried several power adapter from different vendors eg. Apple to Sony and China no names.
Only a old 0,7A Samsung supply will boot without any triangle!?

So what do I miss out ?

Thanks for your answers.

Cheers

ignore the brief power block indicator during boot. It is always displayed at boot and means nothing.
Only be concerned if it happens after boot and red power LED also goes off or blinks.
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

Power cable.
Guessing, the 0.7amp Samsung (I have a couple of 0.7A Samsung chargers - they all have fixed cables) had a fixed cable and the Apple & Sony had a separate cable. The cable matters as much as the power supply.

Hi Guys,

thx for all the answers.

@ klricks
The Rainbow is appearing all time not only at boot time. The Red Power LED never bilinks.

@ pluggy
You are right the 0,7A Samsung has an attached cable. Will look into thw cable issue

cheers
