Yes true.

Here is the output

eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 gdisc pfifo_fast state UP qlen 1000
link/either b0:27:eb:bd:06:e4 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

So b0:27:eb:bd:06:e4 is the IPv6 address ?
Isn't there any IPv4 address ?

No, that's the MAC (hardware) address. It seems you are correct and you don't have any IP address. IPv4 should look like this:

Code: Select all

2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP group default qlen 1000
    link/ether b8:27:eb:6f:26:c1 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    inet 192.168.2.27/24 brd 192.168.2.255 scope global eth0
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
Have you got a working DHCP server, like a router, that is giving out IP addresses?

How are you connecting your Pi to your network?

Does this command show anything?

Code: Select all

grep DHCP /var/log/daemon.log

Aha of course I have to connect to router first. Not to computer like I tried...
Thanks, hopefully I got some progress now and return with new questions :)
