and now it's stuck at the rainbow screen

my power supply is good it worked without any problem for about two weeks
I already tried adding boot_delay=1 to the config.txt

I really need to recover the data
someone please help me

You probably have corrupted files.
You can just copy new ones over those ones in the boot folder.
I did that last week for something like this.
I also had other corrupted files in Python.

Best to make a new uSD and then put this one in a reader and copy your files to the new one..
Once you get one corrupted file you have no idea if you have more.

So I just need to download a new image and unzip it and replace the contents of my USB with it?

You might have better luck if you use the same release files.
But the boot partition is separate and I did get mine to boot by putting new files on.
I still had corrupted files on the second partition.

If there is something important in your Home folder, use a new uSD/USB.
Once you have the new one working use it to read your files off the old one.

But sometime the drive is totally unusable.
Depends on age and is it is cheap stick using secondhand flash.

How do I read the broken USB with the new USB?

If you boot form the new one, just sticking the old one into a spare port should fire up the file manager straight away.
If you are lucky you should see two windows, one for boot partition and one for everything else.

Windows normally won't see that second partition.
