NOOBS doesn't fit on SD

Mon Jul 22, 2019 4:47 pm

I know there is a simple answer. I just would rather not buy another SD card.

NOOBS from this site doesn't work on the NOOBS Native SD card that came with my 3 B+.

What should I install? Lite wasn't what came native, and if given a choice I'd rather not use it either way.

Don't use NOOBS. Just download and install Raspbian Desktop using Etcher as per the instructions on the download page.

How big is the card?

Tiny. Like 1.35 gigs. Can't imagine how it was even put on there.

EDIT: Also should I use the Raspbian with recommended downloads? (The largest of the two desktop downloads)?

You're looking at a single partition on the card. If you don't want any of the contents then reformat it using the instructions at https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... n/noobs.md It will remove all the partitions and give you back the full capacity of the card so you can copy NOOBS on again.

If you're not using the dual boot feature of NOOBS then it is better to just install Raspbian Desktop directly. You don't need to reformat in that case as writing the image will overwrite everything anyway. Use balenaEtcher. Instructions at https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... /README.md
