Changing the resolution in Debian

Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:36 pm

Hello, I'm having a problem getting my Pi to display on my TV, I've had problems with it before where my windows laptop would output in 1080p, which I then had tone down to 1280 x 720.
Having tested the Pi on another screen and it works perfectly, I'm thinking I should do the same with the Pi so I don't need to use the other screen.
However, I don't know how. I'm outputting via HDMI.

Are you saying you want to force the resolution to 1280x720 rather than 1920x1080?

I have configured the file but can't get the gui to fill the screen on my 1080p tv.

Edit: Never mind, added 'disable_overscan=1'.
