External flash means you can choose how much you want, and not go along with whatever the MC has.
Is it possible for those with the skill to remove the Flash on the Pico, install a larger chip, job done. Or are there issues or caveats with doing this ?

I watched the adafruit new product video and they are going to have a 4MB flash so I don't think the size is the issue as much as finding a pin compatible device.

And I don't see that as much of an issue either.

The RP2040 chip will support up to 16MB but I belive that Hippy's query was if there was a limit within the hardware of the release Pi Pico board that would prevent a hardware hack upgrade.
