Ubuntu 20.04 LTS support?

What does it mean when Ubuntu 20.04 LTS has greater RPi support than previously? Does that mean you can install it instead of Raspian? If so, is that useful?

Thank you for the link. I would still like to know what "support" means in this context, however. What does it mean when Ubuntu (or any other LInux distro) adds "support?" It's Linux - why wouldn't it work?

I regret even mentioning Ubuntu, as it was a definitional question not Ubuntu-specific: what does "support" mean? It was so basic that I asked it in Beginners' Forum. I can see now that including the term "Ubuntu" (meant as an example) triggered something sensitive.fruitoftheloom wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 2:05 pmKernel, Firmware, Drivers, Official Raspberry Pi Peripherals, may or may not function or have compatibility issues.
With Raspbian Buster Operating System it is a given that it fully supports every Raspberry Pi and Compute Module as well as Official Peripherals ever manufactured over 8+ years:

So, I take it that "support" means function and compatibility. Thanks.
Yeah, it's ridiculous.Disbursed wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 2:51 pmI regret even mentioning Ubuntu, as it was a definitional question not Ubuntu-specific: what does "support" mean?
