pi 4 not booting into ubuntu core

Thu Jan 02, 2020 8:22 pm

HI,

i want to get a new os for my raspberry pi.

but most os's aren't compatible with raspberry pi 4.

i got gentoo, but i want ubuntu. ubuntu mate is not compatible with pi 4. so i got ubuntu core.

but when i boot my raspberry pi on it, the red light is on, but the green light was not on.

my raspberry pi does not even boot into NOOBS_v3_2_0 .

i am not good at linux so i would like it if i got some help.

I am 9 years old by the way.

thanks!

Check the links from https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/.

Ubuntu Core is for Pi2 or Pi3, not Pi4. But Raspbian and Ubuntu are similar anyway. It is possible to install the Ubuntu-style GUI on Raspbian -- there was a post on this forum about that this week but I don't have a link.

I believe the NOOBS version for Pi4 has to be 3.2.1 at present -- may be different for NOOBS Lite.
You may want to check out PINN -- it's an improved NOOBS with fewer problems and more OSs.

Being nine can be a big advantage -- you will learn more quickly and reject ideas that don't work more easily than some of us dinosaurs!

Don't forget to come back and tell us what works, as well as any other problems. We all learn from each other.
