Berryboot install or boot?

Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:34 am

Hi everybody,

so my question is, I was wondering if I am able to have different os´s on one Pi, I did a little research and Berryboot is supposed to do that. Now my question is when I have for example 3 os´s installed through Berryboot does Berryboot just install the os again when I switch to it or is everything saved when I switch os´s?
For Example:
One os is a Torbox and another is DietPi, and I have set up Torbox with all my settings and DietPi with for example a Plex Server, and I have been using Torbox but then decide to switch to DietPi do I still have all the settings for Plex? And the same when I switch from DietPi back to Torbox, do I still have all the Torbox settings?

Hope that all makes sense to you guys :)

If I understand you correctly, every OS is separate. Boot up one one OS, save stuff... if will only be available on that OS - unless you also create a partition on the card that is shared by each OS.

Yes, you could use Berryboot, NOOBS or PINN to install and run multiple operating systems on the same card or drive, then just choose the one you want at boot time. Each OS will have its own partition to save its configuration files and settings. It's functionally similar to having multiple SD cards with different operating systems on each, but more convenient to switch.
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?
