What version of turtle does trinket use?v

Thu Feb 13, 2020 6:08 am

In our code club we have become frustrated with trinket because many of the turtle commands don't work. I can't set

Code: Select all

mode()
and I can't use

Code: Select all

myturtle.color()
to return the turtle's colour, and there are others.

Why isn't trinket using an up to date turtle library? Is there a list of which commands do work?

I've sent messages to trinket but no one ever replies.

Hi Simon,

Welcome to the forum.

I couldn't find the turtle version either but did you see the list of available commands here: https://trinket.io/docs/python

Maybe turtle.setheading will do what you need in place of mode() ?

I got this reply from my contact at trinket.io.

Thanks for your message. Our python trinket runs on Skulpt https://github.com/skulpt/skulpt, an open-source port to Javascript. The turtle implementation is custom to that library.

If interested, here is a link directly to the source: https://github.com/skulpt/skulpt/blob/m ... /turtle.js

fletch
