Pi with AIY borks after upgrade

Fri Aug 04, 2017 10:23 am

Hi folks,

I've tried to do the following twice now and with the same end result. I've AIY installed on my Pi and I've simply tried to upgrade to latest underlying Raspbian distro:

Code: Select all

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
I haven't babysat the install so I'm not sure which package is causing the issue, but when I check on the update, both times I found that the menu etc have disappeared and only the desktop image is present. When I power off and reboot the Pi, it gets through the splash screen/launch, but then the mouse, keyboard etc cannot be used and indicators for bluetooth, wireless etc indicate they are inactive.

Any ideas? I can always try the vanilla Raspbian image instead of the SD card as a next step.

run a
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
and reboot.

assuming it's the desktop problem you are talking about and not actually the AIY, though is this the AIY image or AIY installed on a normal Raspbian install ?
