The latest news from Eben was " I've just come back from dinner with one of the vendors: one of the topics was getting A+ back in stock. I'd expect us to build some in March for April availability." - but they have sold more than a Millon Pi-3 since then, and cannot make Zeros fast enough.

Start testing with your Zero, or a model B, and hope something is announced next week when the next batch of Zeros is released.

It will have to be my Zero as I need to use a PITS board and the needs a 40 Pin Header, I'll have to solder the 40 pin header onto the Pi first :-)

TBH I may just have to buy a Pi 2 or 3 as the Pi will need a USB Hub as well (which I have) but its just more leads etc

Just get a V2 B from wherever that's reliable, and test with that.

Just avoid the V3 as the serial ports got swapped, and you'd need a workaround.

You can use the Zero for flight but without a camera of course.

I'd get a V2 B now and then see if stock situations improve before the flight (you could fly the V2 B anyway).

Dave - for the base station is the Pi 3 ok to work with a LORA board? Or do I need a Pi 2?
Also for the base station Pi with a LORA board on top what case would work?
