Video Streaming Launch Event - CaenHAB Update

Hi all;

As an update to my earlier post ref a balloon launch in North Devon, things are moving ahead.
This will be a primary school project with my Y6 computing / robotics club taking the lead (under my guidance!!).

As this is such a unique opportunity I want to get the whole school involved and due to the likely event of having to use a launch site away from the school.
In order to enable everyone to get involved and see what's going on in mission control and at the launch site, I am looking for info on how to 'televise' the various aspects. Video streaming over the internet seems to be one solution? (Not sure if my EE PAYG £10 pack would suffice though :-) Hopefully we can find a BT Hotspot or something?

I was thinking of a series of web cameras set up as follows, one in mission control, one at the launch site (subject to a signal) and one in the chase car, each connected to a Raspberry Pi connected to the Internet running video streaming software?

I have used mjpeg-streamer over my home LAN and believe it has the option to enable viewing over the web. If this is feasible I could create an internet browser shortcut to the page / port on each teachers class computer and they could watch the launch over the web.

I understand from previous use of video streaming there would be a separate IP Address / Port for each camera and therefore three separate browser sessions. What would be even cooler would be for all three video streams could be grouped and viewable on one large screen?

Any advice on the above?

If anyone has any other ideas please feel free to share.

As an update to our project:
In order to buy all the necessary items for the build we start fund raising on Monday (raffle at school), from what I have read we will need around £600.

This week I introduced the club to the HabHub website (tracker and predictor) and predicted flight as at yesterday, result was a burst over the channel and a landing in Cherbourg, this made them laugh. I also took them out into the school field measuring tree heights with a DIY clinometer (potential obstacles to our launch).

Due to the trees on the Easterly side of the school field we will more than likely launch from either North Devon Athletics Track, Saunton Beach, Braunton Burrows or RMB Chivenor Airefield (S&R now disbanded, airfield not yet disused but only used in emergencies). All sites will need permission to gain access.

We have also created a web site for the project (the weekly blogs are on the updates page).
