Small thermometer in upper right corner

Fri Sep 30, 2016 5:13 am

I use my 7" screen as framebuffer /dev/fb0 and don't run X on it. The unit has been running okay for some week, but now will stop displaying anything and flash a small thermometer in the upper right corner (near where the 'low power' square will also appear. A reboot will fix it.

Has anyone else seen this? Guessing it mean there is a thermal issue (shocking deduction, right?) but can't seem to find any info on it.

Ideas?

Thanks,

-Snow

The overheating thermometer icon is a very recent addition to the firmware. It was a red square before.
