Auto On / Off of backlight

Sat Jul 16, 2016 4:55 pm

Hi together.

I know that I can switch on / off the backlight of the touchscreen with

Code: Select all

echo 1 > /sys/class/backlight/rpi_backlight/bl_power
echo 0 > /sys/class/backlight/rpi_backlight/bl_power
That works fine so far. But I need it different. I am using the Pi in the Kiosk mode and need to switch off the display when nobody is using it, to save power.

My thoughts is now switching off the screen after x seconds of not used. And then switching it on again on a touch event.

But how to do it? Does anybody have a solution for this problem? (I found a similar problem with the solution via screensaver... but wasn't for a Pi with Raspbian. Maybe there is one for a Pi with Raspbian?)
