Pi model 1 B and official screen

Fri May 06, 2016 6:41 pm

Does the official display work with the Pi Model 1 B? It wasnt supported 7 months ago in October-2015 but I was under the impression that was just a power thing. So I'm powering the screen independently.

I just bought the official screen and I cant seem to get it working. I tried powering through the USB and also tried through the pins attached to the Pi. Neither gave any indication of life in the screen. Is this an issue with my Pi? I am running the latest release from retropie as my OS with no additional drivers installed - I cant figure out if I need them at the moment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Section on connecting to a model A or B.
The i2c lines are missing from the display connector and you have to use the i2c from the gpio header and the link wires.
