Weird Display color issue

I am quite new to raspberry pi and recently purchased a used Raspberry Pi 7inch Display 1.1, however, the colour saturation seems problematic and I can hardly read anything on screen. I am not sure if the display is defective or if there are some settings that I am missing. I am connecting to a raspberry pi 3 which displays perfectly by hdmi. I have attached some pictures to explain the problem.
