Pi2B & OFD: screen imitates Poltergeist

Fri Mar 18, 2016 3:52 pm

Hi all-

My 7" Foundation display seems to work OK once the software loads (it'd be nice to have some indication, even a flashing cursor during startup).

The trouble comes after I shut the Pi2B down using the GUI (which will be necessary for the end user).

The screen at first shuts down, but then repeatedly comes back up, throbbing to full brightness and then sinking back to black. This goes on until I pull the 2.4 amp supply. (Project later to be battery powered.)

My display is wired to the Pi with the 2 jumpers, and the USB from the PS is connected to the display jack.

Main question is: Is my display defective? If not, what is the fix?

Also, what gives?

The fix is to unplug the power pack. My display just goes all white with a few black lines across it. If I leave it like that for a while and then boot up the Pi with the run terminal the display never goes back to working, it just stays the way it was. I have to fully power down everything by removing the power pack.
