Mouse pointer goes nuts

Sun Nov 01, 2015 3:03 pm

Hi

I've just set up my official screen, and it seems to work ok for about 30 seconds after boot, then the mouse pointer goes crazy, as if I'm tapping or dragging on the screen constantly. Raspbian starts interpreting it as me trying to move desktop icons!

It'll stop occasionally, but as soon as I try to touch the screen again it sets off.

Any ideas?

How do you have the screen mounted? Is it in a stand or enclosure?

It's on a pimoroni stand - which only attaches to the back and leaves the screen completely uncovered.

It was also doing the same before I used the stand.

Are the two flat cables fully inserted into the respective connectors on the display interposer board?

I suggest re-seating them.

Thanks jdb - I've completely removed and reinserted all the connectors several times. It just seems like there's a "stripe" down the middle of the screen that's getting touch signals.

I'm going to try again without the frame, to make sure that's not knocking any of the connections loose. I'll report back if it improves things.

I've got the exact same problem. Did anyone ever find a solution for this?

I would suggest returning the unit as faulty.
