[Win10] Screen freezes but api works

Mon Apr 30, 2018 8:17 am

Hello,

We have a strange problem on our Raspberry Pi3 with Windows 10 Iot as its OS. We have a ticket-scanning terminal, with a screen (connected via HDMI) that has the usual displays where the user is asked to scan a ticket and then is informed that the ticket is accepted or rejected (together with a beep coming from the connected speaker).

However, one day the screen had started freezing. The application works (tickets are scanned, and the gate is opened when a ticket is accepted) and when I use the screenshot-capture feature on the Device Portal, the screenshots show what is actually supposed to appear on the display rather than a frozen screen (so the app did not freeze). Restarting just the display device or exiting the app via Device Portal does nothing. The only way to sole the problem is to restart the Raspberry, after which the problem re-occurs either in several hours or the next day. We tried to replace all the components (including the raspberry device), but those did not solve the problem.

Anyone know why the problem might occur, and how to solve it?
