PI3 and Windows 10 IOT

Fri Apr 06, 2018 7:27 am

I have a PI3.

I know this unit works as I have a live memory card which boots Linux and have been working fine.

So I decided to get into Windows 10 IOT
So got myself a brand new SanDisk Ultra 16GB Class 10 card.

I then used the Windows 10 Dashboard to make an image for the SD Card.
Stuck it in the PI powered on and just a black screen.

I then took the SD card out, formatted it again, this time loaded the latest NOOBS version just to test the boot.
It booted to that. I hit Windows 10 it did it's initial setup, such as partitions etc. Then rebooted.

Get passed rainbow screen and then black screen again.

No activity on ethernet but LED lights are on for status etc.

Any idea why this ain't booting?

It won't boot on a RPi3B+ as the firmware and kernel are too old.

If it won't boot on a regular RPi3B (non-plussed) then you've failed to write the stuff to the SDCard.
