How to install python on Windows 10 IoT

Fri Mar 17, 2017 8:38 am

Hey there,

My raspberry pi 2 mode 2 is running on Windows 10 IoT at the moment.

I want to install python and run python apps on it.

How do I install python?

I can't deploy from Visual Studio because I get this error:

Code: Select all

Failed to connect to device '10.0.11.19' using Universal Authentication. Please verify the correct remote authentication mode is specified in the project debug settings. 0x8007274D: The network event being waited on triggered an error.

Obviously the first step is to get Windows 10 Core IoT Core OS being able to connect to your Windows 10 Desktop OS machine, otherwise you can not deploy apps:

You need to install Python Support for IoT in Visual Studio. You need to select this option when installing Visual Studio or you can add it from the Visual Studio installer after the installation.
Following link contains some of the steps for the Python support in Visual Studio 2017.
