Raspberry Pi 2 with multiple USB TTL serial adapters

Tue May 10, 2016 12:04 pm

Hi

I have a raspberry pi 2 running windows IOT.

I've got 2 of these USB TTL convertors ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... UTF8&psc=1) so i can connect a finger sensor and a 3g modem.
Currently when i only have one of the units connected it works fine, but when i try and run my app with bith USB adapters connected the serialdevice is not recognised.

It show there are 3 serial items (1 is the on board UART ).
according to the micorsoft online demo rpocject https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/w ... rialsample there is an issue that only the first Serial item is recognised!!

Has anyone found a way to get round this.

Thanks
John

Which kernel version are you using?

If using the release version from last November, try leaving the USB/Serial adapters out while the Pi boots, then put them back in before you run your software.

Better to just get the latest Insider preview kernel though where I think these serial issues are solved.

Hi

I have updated to the latest version of windows IOT ( cannot remember the number as i type ) but upgrading to that and removing the headless zwave process has helped and i can now access all the serial devices correctly

Thanks
