Raspberry Pi display

Fri Oct 16, 2015 9:23 am

Hi folks,

I know, I know, there's no DirectX support for Rapsberry Pi 2 in Windows 10 IoT.

But I've seen several touchscreens working on it.

Does it works with Raspberry Official TouchScreen 7" Display?

Thanks in advance

Not yet. How long before it is, is the question a lot of people have asked (with no official reply). It is on the list of things to do and they are getting ticked off one by one. (See 10240, 10531 and 10556 releases since Summer).

My personal favourite would be DirectX ahead of the screen. YMMV

Well over on the MS forum someone has just reported that the Official screen works in 10556!

Anyone got one to test with?

I've just installed it and doesn't work!

Can you show us your "config.txt", please?

Thanks in advance

The person who "stated" it worked was on the MSDN Forum

So that is the official Raspberry 7" Display connected to the DSI bus on the Pi? Working on 10556? Without any changes required?

Mine is on order.

Yep!

I attach you a couple of pictures for better clarity.

No touch support for now.

I hope it helps!

You must plug red and black wires: 5v and GND form de screen to the Pi

Or power it separately (though I would keep the ground in any case).

The v1.1 screen hardware version is known to have problems. The hardware change has apparently broken the otherwise working MS driver that talks to the GPU. This has already been reported on the MS site and work is underway to establish 'root cause'.

As the Linux driver requires a patch to work with the new hardware AFAIK, then something obviously slipped in the transfer of that info to MS or they were slow to respond.
