Windows 10E internal web server not responding

Wed Jul 01, 2015 1:36 am

I have recently installed Win10E onto my RP2.
It boots fine, gets an IP, and responds to pings.
I can also successfully PowerShell into it and set it's name, password and reboot it all via command line.
However, if I browse to it's IP I get nothing, browser times out.
It's web server isn't running so I can't use its WebUI...
OS version is 10.0.10152.0
(Also, in the UI, the Power button is grayed out.... strange)

Thanks for any input.

hello all!

I have the same issue. I can connect and send commands via PowerShell, but the web server send a timeout.

Is there anything to be done to enable it? From what I have read here and there, it's supposed to be working right out of the box, is not it?

Thanks for any clues....

Problem solved! Did not know it, but I got the very last build, on which the web app is at 8080. So doing 192.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 is needed to get to the web server. Works like a charm!

The port number in the June release is now 8080, not the default 80.

Yes, I meant Windows 10 Embedded (IoT core) and thanks for the info, I'll try it when I get home tonight.

Why do you insist in calling it Embedded, it is just Windows 10 IoT Core

I am curious as well. I have been following the dev of Windows 10 core IoT for a long time.

This is the first that I have heard it called Windows Embedded.

There was a windows embedded product in the past, but Windows 10 core IoT is not that.

It is more closely related to the windows server core than any of the embedded stuff.
