Using SSD or Hard drive to boot from?

Mon May 11, 2015 11:51 pm

Are there plans to support booting from something other than SD cards, e.g. as done with Raspbian where the first boot process is from SD, then continues on the attached sub drive?

Are there tools in the ADK to support this configuration?

Part 1 of the puzzle solved: http://ms-iot.github.io/content/win10/ImageCreation.htm

This is similar to creating custom install images for Windows 7 and 8, e.g. to get a minimal install or to create an image that has your specific configuration preset. Useful if you have your own drivers or apps that you always want to have loaded. You could also persist video settings for 'not-quite-play-and-play' monitors.

The Windows ADK is available for download (at bottom of page): https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/window ... 13721.aspx
