GPU Support / DirectX Driver

Sun May 03, 2015 10:43 am

Hi,

When developing an app using the DirectX 11 API the device reports full compliance with the 11.1 Feature Level even when using a HARDWARE device (not WARP), which would suggest to me it's a device implemented in software on the CPU.

What is the current state of GPU support in Win 10 IoT when using DirectX?

Thanks,

Adam

As explained in the release readme.txt (seperate download from iot image), accelerated graphics support for the vc4 is still under development, so it isn't available yet. It will however be available in a future release.

It also depends which platform you are targeting. The MBM has some level of acceleration, while the Rpi2 currently only has WARP support. This might change in the future though.
