Externalised GPIO for precise sense hat temperature

I plan to buy a sense hat to display temperature, humidity etc. I read on a vendor site that the raspberry pi or the sense hat itself can heat the sense hat and alter the temp.

1) is it true?
2) if true, is there a way to place the sense that away from the pi?

1) yes its true, at least with pi2 (and with pi3 probably worse)
2) you can use a 40 pin ribbon cable (or 40 male-female jumper wires if you have them lying around) but even then temperatures were to high on my device (about 2 degrees)
In my point of view a seperate sensor for temperature (ds18B20 or ds18S20 ) and for humidity (maybe a am-2302/dht22) are better for this purpose

I soldered one of these, https://www.adafruit.com/products/1979 to one of these https://www.adafruit.com/products/2310 and put it between my Pi and sense hat. Temps read normal ambient now. It adds some space between the two boards and adds some shielding between them. I also soldered a Real Time Clock breakout board to it so my Pi keeps perfect time. Win win for me.
