Installing Sense HAT software

Hi,
I'm keen to get a few Sense HATs for my Primary School Raspberry Pi Club and know that a software package needs to be installed to do the projects on the Raspberry Pi website
My question is: Is an Internet connection need to download this, and other software for other projects (like Python 3 spacrCRAFT).
If so, I can do this at home, but it will obviously save me time if not.
The Pi's at the club don't have an Internet connection (something to do with the LA firewall I believe).

Although all the necessary software will already be installed, if you need anything other than the most basic examples, you'll need an internet connection.

Just another question.
On the software installation page of the Raspberry Pi/Sense HAT website, it says that the Sense HAT needs to be attached when installing the software. Is this necessary?
It's just that the Sense HATs are on order and are yet to arrive and I'd like to get them set up at home before they come.

No, you should be able to install the software without the hat attached.
