Sense Hat NOT detected any more

I managed to get it working fine and was able to run some sample codes. Now however, whatever program I run, I get an error message telling me

OSError: Cannot detect RPI-Sense FBdevice

The other thing I noticed is, when it was working, the 8x8 LED display would light up at boot-up, then turn off after few seconds. Now however, all lights remain ON all the time.

Is there a way to detect the integrity of the Hat? Of course, the Pi needs to be able to detect it first.

Any help would be appreciated.

It can't find such directory. I tried to create one under /proc but it won't let me.

Here is one more hint. I have 2× PI 2 B. One SD card has the NOOBS package, the other has a Matlab installation. It appears the Matlab installation is preventing the PI2 from detecting the SenseHat. I did swap the SDs between the 2 RPIs, and now, the SenseHat works fine. Thus, I now know for sure this is NOT a hardware issue, but just something wrong with the Matlab installation.

Nn the setup that's not working, what does /boot/config.txt contain. You seem to have device tree disabled.
