Supprt posts/standoffs

Okay... I haven't located the spec for the standoffs to properly support the SenseHAT (yes, I know the early ones from the Swag Store included a set...but I'm in the US). Putting various bits of old data together with measurements, it *looks* like they should be M2.5 by 12 mm. Is that correct? Or are they some other size?

This is the kind of minor data that really ought to be included with the documents that come with the SenseHAT....but isn't.

10-12mm should be fine.

I use 11mm M2.5 meta hex standoff from farnell / element 14. If you're using a pimoroni case, you'll need 1 5mm, 1 8mm and 2 11mm to account for the various 3mm layers of the case the standoff attaches to.

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but could I please just ask if 12.7mm standoffs would be ok to use with the Astro Pi, or would 9.5mm ones be better?

I've been surprised how difficult it has been to cheaply source 4 x 11mm standoffs, complete with fixing screws.

Plug your astropi into your raspberry pi, and measure the gap between the PCBs. It's around 11mm, so
9.5mm is too short, 12.7 should be OK, there will be a 1.7mm gap between the GPIO plug and socket, but the pins will make secure contact still.

I should think that 12.7mm is a bit too long. With the 9.5mm, you can always add a washer as a shim to get a better fit.

I'm still waiting for my Astro Pi to arrive so will hang on and get the tape measure out when I see it in situ.
