I have installed all the required packages as instructed, but I can not get the LEDs to light up.
When the Pi boots up the LED lights up in rainbow colour as the monitor does.

Do they remain on after the pi boots or do they turn off and you are unable to get them to light up?

I found the problem
I have had a Display-O-Tron 3000 attached and had a script start on boot. And I think that it gave me problems.
