Python Executable File?

Sun Jun 14, 2015 3:31 pm

On the information pack (http://astro-pi.org/wp-content/uploads/ ... e-v1.2.pdf) it says you need to provide the python source code and an executable file. Aren't python files executable? Does this just mean you need to add a hashbang and the beginning of the file?

It's probably just a poor choice of words.

My guess is the executable file is just a script which sets up any needed environment and passes the Python script any needed parameters.

In most cases it might just be a couple of lines

Code: Select all

#!/bin/bash
python2 script.py
