Sense HAT API for non English speakers

Thu Aug 10, 2017 1:52 pm

During one of my meetings with ESA a teacher pointed out that non English speakers have to parrot-fashion learn the meanings of the Sense HAT API functions. So, as an experiment, I've created this GitHub gist to show how Python class inheritance can be used to translate the method and parameter names.

https://gist.github.com/davidhoness/6a5 ... 6b2db8784e

I've used dummy values to represent the translated words. Have we got any volunteers to do a translated version of this for their own language?

If this proves popular we can incorporate it into the main Sense HAT API itself.

I now have a functioning French version in Trinket:

The gist is here :

No doubt some improvements to be made to my keywords used and some documentation will be appreciable to simplify usage. But this is already a "proof of concept".

Fantastic idea Dave and the teacher you met at ESA! You cannot imagine how important it is for us "non-native" English-speakers. Merci ;)
