Mon May 08, 2017 2:29 am

I meet an error when I test the Sense Hat," it cannot detect the RPI-sense FB device" as attached picture. How can I solve this problem ? Thanks.

More info on what your trying to do would help. Posting your code/file your running may help too.

What OS and what version it is would help too.

The OS is the latest vision raspbian-jessie. And some parts were tested OK and others were failed.

Open your file in idle2, then clip and past the contents here using the "Code" tags. Run it from idle and you'll get better error messages and a marker to the code that's creating the error. I test all my code in idle first, until it runs with no errors. Then give it a real world run.

Just so you know, the latest Raspbian already contains all the packages needed to run the sense hat. You shouldn't need to install anything extra. I can't tell what it is your doing from that screen shot alone.

.

It was solved by doing the following:

The R Pi is not recognising the Sense HAT. So go into the Terminal and alter config.txt with the instructions below:

sudo leafpad /boot/config.txt

Scroll down to the bottom of the config file and type:
dtoverlay = rpi-sense then 'Save' the config file and reboot your Pi.

Hope it works.

It will be one of two things, either a physical connection problem between the Sense HAT and the Pi or the EEPROM (a chip on the Sense HAT which announces what type of HAT it is) has become corrupted.

Following the advice above about config.txt should do the trick, but if not then check the HAT is pressed down well. I have seen some cheaper pin headers which have flat pins that cause this issue intermittently.

Sense Hat connected directly to the Pi or mounted to something like the Black Hat Hac3r kit?
Rainbow pattern on the LED matrix on Pi Boot Up?
