pi 4 fails to start after reboot

Mon Sep 06, 2021 6:44 am

I have a Raspberry Pi 3B and 4B.
It operates 24 hours a day.
Reboot once a day.
However, only 4B may fail to boot. The screen turns black. No abnormality is found in the lamps of Raspberry Pi 4B.
Verification environment (for verification, reboot once every 5 minutes)

<Raspberry Pi 3B>
Install Raspberry Pi OS (32-bit) from Raspberry Pi official
I set crontab -l
*/5 * * * * sudo reboot
<Raspberry Pi 4B>
Install Raspberry Pi OS (32-bit) from Raspberry Pi official
I set crontab
*/5 * * * * sudo reboot

4B takes about half a day and fails to start.
I did the following validation, but the problem was not resolved.

1
When the SPI EEPROM (boot loader) on the board is malfunctioning.
How to check: Disconnect the power supply, remove the microSD card, and then restart the power supply. If the green LED (ACT) does not blink, the SPI EEPROM (boot loader) on the board is malfunctioning.
→The green LED (ACT) flashed. It is not a SPI EEPROM (boot loader) issue.

2
Undo changes in the OS
I made changes to / etc / xdg / lxsession / LXDE / autostart, so I removed the changes and the apps used for them.
→Only 4B fails to start

3
Remove my application and set only Raspberry Pi OS and crontab.
*/5 * * * * sudo reboot
→Only 4B fails to start
I found that it was not a problem for my application.

The firmware has been updated to the latest version.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
→Only 4B fails to start

Reboot with the reboot option -f
*/5 * * * * sudo reboot -f
→Only 4B fails to start

I wondered if you could help me.
