Connecting PiTFt directly to Raspberry Pi without the board

Mon Oct 03, 2016 2:05 pm

Hi,

I have an Adafruit ILI9341 320x240 TFT STMPE610 or FT6206 PiTFT Display Model B+/Pi2. I'm wondering if it is possible to detach the display from its board, so removing the flex connector, and attaching it directly to Raspberry Pi 3 by using a port or a small adapter. I need this to have more space for a mobile project.

All suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Confused, you mean connect it via the DSI or HDMI? A link to the display would help.

The ribbon connector connects to the ILI9341 that acts as a protocol converter between SPI and the display. It is NOT possible to drive that display directly from the Raspberry without using an ILI9341.
