Re: Turn on usb powered light and take picture

Hello, Powering USB ports http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/23729/raspberry-pi-b-usb-port-disable One way would be to use a switched/powered USB Hub. Such as http://www.ebuyer.com/279681-xenta-7-port-usb-2-0-hub-with-individual-port-on-off-switches-n-uh725 I'm not recommending this hub,...

Hello, One possible cure, if you have a CD writer on your Windows 7 machine is to download and burn a Gparted live CD. http://gparted.org/livecd.php Put the SD card in a reader on your laptop and boot from the CD. Then your can delete all partitions, create a new single partition for the whole SD ca...

I think as you have these warnings and they don't appear important, I'll leave them.
One day some one will pick them up and clear them.

Hello DougieLawson , Thanks for the reply. I normally run headless, so never see the boot process. Hello,

Just a note, the total current drawn from all the GPIO pins at the same time should NOT exceed 55ma,
and the standard maximum current draw from each IO pin should be limited to 8ma.

Hello Energia , I don't know about the GUID file system. I think the problem you face is down to power. When the Pi boots, it uses a a fair amount of current and at the same time your HDD is spinning up to speed and drawing power. Its possible that this is restricting the available power to the USB ...

Hello Gerard0315,

To access the GPIO generally you need root privileges.
Find where your compiled program is.
Open a terminal, cd to your program location.
type:- sudo ./yourprogname.
