... The GPIO expander only lists 7 outputs so there is still 1 spare. It may be muxed with something else as well. Get the multimeter out and test to see if the switch works.

... My experience with this configuration via DPI is zero, but I managed to make CCFL work 12v and today I will try to make the connection on GPIO and test the settings. I'll post the progress here if it works! :D

I would suggest you test your new SD card using a program like H2testW https://h2testw.en.lo4d.com/windows make sure you have everything off the SD card that you want first as H2testW will over right the entire card while testing. ...

... set the SPI port up right, you can talk to the chip with flashrom, and that tells you the model# of the chip @cleverca22: -I have no other RPI4 to test it on. are you on linux or windows? what does `fdisk -l` report for the SD card with recovery.bin?

OK, so I think I have enabled the watchdog timer on my Pi 4B (Buster) but now I cannot seem to get RaspiOS to hang with a fork bomb. Good in a way, it shows how resilient it is but I want it to hang to test the watchdog timer. Any ideas?
