How did you clone it? Using dd, using Win32DiskImager, using the Raspbian PiClone tool or something else?

... install, so grab a SD Card and start afresh. If you have a SD Card Reader you could try to extract any data on the old SD Card. Fotunately PiClone SD Card Copier is included with the Jessie with Pixel DE, so you will always have a backup in the future, just a SD Card swap away ;)

... I can still login as normal from my PC using tightVNC viewer? AFAIAA only RDP has an issue with RealVNC so you should be AOK, but as above stated PiClone your SD Card first..

... before backup? Thanks in advance Osty If you used W32DiskImager it needs to be written to exactly the same byte size SD Card or greater. I use PiClone SD card copier in Raspbian Jessie to back up to another SD Card.

You are replying to a very old post.

The newer SD Card copier (or "piclone" on the command line) will copy the current SD card to a new card in a USB reader and expand/reduce the partition sizes to match that card.
