First 10" LCD with capacitive touch based on Raspberry Pi!

... solution to connect to cheap notebook LCD. And we have walk down this path to fulfill the requirements. Our solution comes with a plug-n-play 10" LVDS LCD with capacitive touch built-in. Our board also acts as a power supply to power up RPi from the USB port on our board. This smart feature will ...

I'm interested how the touch part works on that one.

EDIT : Hmm. It looks like the CPU is maxed out the whole time.

10" LCD LVDS bundle with capacitive touchscreen and ambient

Hey Guys I have been looking for a compatible 10" touch screen for the RPi and finally found my solution at Chalkboard Electronics. They are currently taking in pre-orders at a discount price. Just pre-ordered one even though I haven't recieved my RPi yet. Hopefully they will arrive around the same ...

Sounds like a fantastic idea - I'd be very interested in a converter like this. I have so many displays sitting around at home... Even if just one of them works I'd be happy!

Re: HDMI->LVDS converter

The LVDS interface of this board is 6bit, single channel. That translates to four lvds pairs, max resolution is at 1440x900, I think, for this kind of setup. So yes, you can connect the board to any kind of panel sporting a ...

Very interested. Will this be able to use the common slimline 40 pin LVDS interface? Or will it be a different one?

If you are really desperate to use this screen look into the "Design for a HDMI to LVDS apdaptor" thread.
That should give you a overview.

Re: first design for an hdmi to lvds adapter

Regarding the crystal, that's exactly what was on my mind two minutes ago :). I was looking at those two traces going underneath it, and it really doesn't look good. I have another Eagle question: I'm trying to redo the hdmi connector, I need the 4 pads to be GND, that is, when I draw a GND polygon ...

Re: first design for an hdmi to lvds adapter

Having saved the image locally and viewed in a graphics programme. Can I suggest you move the crystl and caps left (towards HDMI connector side of board), it is not good practise to run signals under a crystal or oscillator, they tend to interfere. Move caps closer to crystal, keep those track runs ...

With 0.4 / 0.8, I can have 0.25mm space between tracks and vias, and it looks a lot better!

Re: first design for an hdmi to lvds adapter

On closer inspection I would seriously consider dropping signal via sizes as there are several places where your layout would fail DRC checks for 0.2mm clearance between via and anything else.

Consider rotating the ADV chip by 45 degrees may give easier layout.

Re: first design for an hdmi to lvds adapter

What size vias are you using on signal tracks? Most places can drill vias down to 0.3mm with NO price premium. I would suggest you use 0.4mm or .5mm drill for vias on SIGNALS with tracks up to 0.5mm width. On power tracks use 0.6mm or 0.8mm drill Reducing via size can free up a lot of track space. A...
