Both look the same, one I have had for a few years from Three that initially had a Three sim in but supplied unlocked (Huawei E5573B), the other is a Vodafone branded one (Huawei R218h) I got a month or so back.

I will get the rest of the info tomorrow, they are currently plugged into Windows PC

And for beguiners users like me and you it is useful to use Synaptic.
These software will help you all the way throug. It will tell you also if you need or you want to install others libraries

... set AP as Root Bridge with Wireless Clients... of course you can't set AP in that mode if you use VLANs. :x so your research is the only fix. With Huawei HG658 I did not had problems like this. Thank you for sharing your research and fix.

Hello, I want to be thorough before I actually do stuff to this bad boy because it's reasonably expensive for me and I don't want to fry it. I was wondering if a super charger from Huawei that outputs 5V, 3A or 4.5V, 5A or 5V, 4.5A will do the trick and won't long-term damage my Pi.
