... long there is power to the Pi it gets recognized. When I turn off the power to the Pi have to run the program again, so no permanent memory on my Auvidea board. So yes it just works even through my chain of adapters (MiniDisplay -> DVI -> HDMI)

I don't place much confidence in a product whose web page served today (15 April 2016) contains "The B101 is shipping now. The special offer is valid until March 31, 2015." (My emphasis.)

The Auvidea B101 uses this chip and is close enough to the demo board to work. I'm not sure why you think the touch screen would use a camera interface ...

... the official firmware because the Pi Towers used to develop a board which uses the chip. But the product is not released. Aubidea B101 http://www.auvidea.eu/index.php/theme-styles/2014-12-30-22-32-06/b101 is very similar to the demo board.

... I am working on getting the Pi Foundation demo board working solely from userspace, but I've not had much spare time to work on it recently. The Auvidea board is a good enough clone of that unreleased board that it works with that code.
