Re: Attempting to port Minecraft (Client!) to the Raspberry

Is your Pi overclocked? It might boost performance if you do!

Attempting to port Minecraft (Client!) to the Raspberry PI.

This is a project I have undertaken to try get Minecraft working in a playable state to the Pi. This project will probably crash and burn, but I can try! :D Currently I can get it to launch to an unusable title screen running at under one frame ...

Re: can i run minecraft server in Pi?

They recommend a 2Ghz + CPU and 4 Gb of Ram for the server. The Pi's CPU is approximately the same power as a 300 Mhz Pentium II and it has 256 Mb of Ram. The client needs something similar + a hunking great GPU.

Re: Minecraft Server

Hi,

have you checked the performance from the MCServer on the Raspi with Turbomode?

Assuming, this should give a significantly Speed Boost.

Re: Minecraft

Are there new tests with MC-Server or Mineserver Running on RPi?

especially with the dynamic Turbo Mode enabled?

“High” “950MHz ARM, 450MHz core, 450MHz SDRAM, 6 overvolt”
“Turbo” “1000MHz ARM, 500MHz core, 500MHz SDRAM, 6 overvolt”

is it now compiling without problems?

Re: minecraft on pi

It does not.
Every few days somebody says he got it running , but can either not prove it
or we are just to dumb to reproduce his success.

That said , MC SERVERS run *acceptably* on the Pi. Of course only third-party ones.
