Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Sorry to hear that your update wasn't smooth. I've installed the latest on 3 systems over the last couple of days without issues (using defaults). Please share when you find a reason why video is not working so any necessary improvement can be made. No need to apologize I was just being a grouch. S...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Actually that's interesting about iframe dependency on network delay as silvan has a theory on cause of iframe errors and extra delays in writing h264 buffers making the problem worse would fit in with this theory. On the process for recording and boxing, as far as the Pi is concerned it is all loc...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Just have to say, I hadn't updated since May and I'm a bit unhappy with some of the changes. For exmaple the RPi_Cam_Web_Interface_Installer.sh, is it really necessary for the menu system to pop up when we give it one of the old commands that worked? On top of that going from 5.1.7 to 6.0.2 and now ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

If you haven't updated for a while then you may be having difficulties with a change in permissions made a little while back. Previousy raspimjpeg used to run as root, now it runs as www-data to enhance security. This doesn't normally impact local storage but if you have mounted external storage th...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

FWIW, I had been using my pi to record on motion detect. I was having it NOT do the mp4 wrapping and was letting my media server where the recorded videos are moved to via incron do the wrapping. More than 60% are erroring with "Cannot find H264 start code". So I decided to apply all the latest upda...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I thought we had already incorporated all those changes already in the latest version, which does support V3 annotation, text sizing, custom colours. Is there something we have missed? Ooops sorry missed the size down below (figured it would be near the annotate) and since the annotate said string ...

Re: POE support on Rpi 3

Also, to put a nail in the OP coffin, RPi 3 will certainly have USB type-C for power and ethernet? Wouldn't count on that. That would require 1 of 2 things. 1. Manufacture RPi with usb 3.x and deal with the associated costs, does Broadcom make a Pi'esque chip with USB 3? Say the BCM 7445 for exampl...

Re: PSU Monitor

Not possible. The power management (the small under voltage rainbow square and winking power light) stuff is all done in GPU code and not externalised on any userland interface. It is such a shame that this could not be made available in some manner in software. So many of us, myself included run h...

Re: Newark Shipping Charges

Microcenter sells them for $34.99. Their price tag on the shelf references either Farnell or MCM. The wont ship them and I imagine that is part of their agreement with Farnell/MCM/Neware/Element14. That's all very well...but the nearest Microcenter store to where I live is something over 400 miles ...

Re: Newark Shipping Charges

The RPF is not the manufacture of the RPi. The parent company of Newark/Element 14 does the manufacturing of the RPi under license of the RPF. Newark/Element 14 would have to be the ones to deal with Digikey/ Mouser etc.... not the RPF....... And I don't believe Newark/Element 14 is going to sell t...

Re: Newark Shipping Charges

MCM is doing a shipping deal this weekend. They'll ship for $6. That's a pretty decent rate. That is more fair. Still a bit overpriced in my book. A Pi2 fits in a small priority mail flat rate box and ships for $5.35 with free shipping supplies (I know I shipped one). Matter of fact you could easil...

Well the whole point of DIY is DIY.. Not DSSED (Do Something Someone Else Did).. That said.... You have batteries and lithium chargers. You have a Pi, what you don't have it sounds like is enough Solar and possibly needed fast storage capacity to provide consistent output. Here is what I would do in...

Hi! Just a quick question, for those living in the USA, where is the best place to purchase the RPi 2 ? If you are thinking big, and want to purchase all the available accessory components for the RPi 2, what would be the best place to shop if you live in the USA?. Microcenter has them in their sto...

SIMPLE test case! I'm not going to spend time installing, fighting to get to work, and then analysing a big app like Raspimjpeg to work out what they're doing. Oh come now, surely this would be easy, and next, after that, you can figure out why windows can be such a pile at times!</sarcasm> No need...

Thanks 6by9. Did the usual; sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade sudo rpi-update Rebooted and when raspimjpeg restarted it will still jumping. I have found that if I take a still image using their UI it will stop the jumping. I may need to see if silvan will update raspimjpeg or if he is do...

That was very helpful. So it appears the camera uses the uvcvideo projects driver. So you need to look into if that driver supports power management with your device.

If you have suspended it in Ubuntu as you mention in your other post, what driver was it using? Is that the same driver Raspberry is using?
