Re: the lack of ubuntu on the RPi and canonicals POV

<t>I think that Canonical's pov is that they are in the business of building plug and play operating systems for current and future consumer devices. Nothing wrong with that - it's a potentially massive market.<br/> <br/> Too much choice isn't necessarily a good thing. It encourages niches and also ...

[caveat mode]Not knowing a massive amount about Linux or Arm (which is why I'm here) it may well be down to whether your Linux distribution of choice allows swap allocation on a removable drive. Sounds possible though

Re: Fake website popped up on youtube

Good spot Nick!

Liz, is there a "direct line" for reporting scams? I suppose if someone spots an obvious scam I guess they should report it directly to e.g. Youtube as well since time is of the essence.

Maybe there could be a notice re. Foundation policy on the homepage?

Good effort ukscone - although according to internet rules we should really insist on pictures.

What is it with cats? They always land on their feet, so I guess they think that we can too. Anyway, this is defo an early candidate for thread of the week.

Re: My thoughts on the Bun Fight

Amazon aren't in the business of electronics (in the sense of getting stuff made). They're just a giant virtual car boot sale. If you read the Foundation's front page you'll see why actual electronics suppliers were chosen.

Amazon indeed....

<t>There's a lot of forum traffic to keep up with, but I read somewhere here (from an admin, I think) that they were in this country, but waiting to clear customs and whatnot. I guess this explains why those who got a confirmation were expecting delivery in ten days or so. As to allocation to the tw...
