Re: a angry rant

Yours comparing a $35 computer to a computer that probably cost way more and then basing your judgement of Linux on that one single low powered ARM platform? Try Linux on a desktop. It may not be right for you, but for me it is much better

That's updated. No need to check anything, any HTML5 video (H264) will work out of the box.

Re: Pi 2 won't load to main menu

Very nice that they put chromium in the latest iso but if you don't want to install it just now, the method works. Nothing is outdated about the advise against pulling the power plug or removing the sd card before a proper shutdown sequence has completed. That is the best way to protect against sd ...

Re: Pi 2 won't load to main menu

It sounds like you may have corrupted the boot partition when you pulled the plug on the Rpi. Your best bet is to set up anew SD card and load Noobs, choose an OS and reload. If you have files on the existing SD card, then you can use a USB card reader to look for them and copy them back to your pi...

Re: New release 11-25 video HW acceleration question

Don't turn that on. It uses software rendering and that's why it's slow. It's enabled out of the box for videos. Thank you for your suggestion :) May I ask you is there a way to check the follow update in 11-25 version?? * Updates to hardware video acceleration in Chromium browser Thanks again. Wha...

I have no idea what you are saying. I assume you are saying there are frame skips, and yes, that is normal.

Load sensing accuracy

Alright, so I've I've decided to do more hardware and I have a question. So I'm making a scale for a project (Raspberry Pi connected to Arduino) and I've been reading a lot about load sensors. I've settled on https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13329 as the load sensor and the HX711 as the amplifier. ...

Re: I get 'command not found' not a prompt to apt-get

*wonders whether this should be in the default image* I discovered the "did you mean..." suggestion when I installed Ubuntu MATE on my Pi 3B. It was a bit of a surprise and it seems like it's a good idea at first. But in practice I found it never actually suggested what I had wanted and had mistype...

What extending functionality? That was me with the pastebin and it seems like you have extra things in swiftshader. Remove all the files from that folder and try again.

Edit: You are cross compiling right?

Re: Pi Rebooting at commands/actions

Hello, I just got my Raspberry Pi and I installed Raspbian on it. Ever since I got it I have been having issues with pi rebooting. At first it rebooted whenever I started chromium. I updated the OS and that went away. In order to run retro pie on it I started booting pi to text mode and than it sta...

Re: Cloning SD Cards with Unique IDs

Someone may pop up in a minute to say "That's 100% insecure and anyone could fake the serial number with a bit of work", but as it'll be you getting the serial number on a clean system, that situation won't arise. You could put a systemd entry to mount a fake cpuinfo over the real one before the sc...

It does work with hundreds of websites. That line is to pause the video, which it does not do for other sites, but since omxplayerGUI and youtube-dl handle it, it supports many websites.

I'd recommend a Pi3B with the latest Raspbian which has chromium and flash built in. That should work for you without problems. Re: Cloning SD Cards with Unique IDs

This command will give you the full serial number of the Pi sed -n "s/^Serial.*: //p" /proc/cpuinfo The first 8 characters will always be zero though, so you could remove those sed -n "s/^Serial.*: 0\{8\}//p" /proc/cpuinfo Someone may pop up in a minute to say "That's 100% insecure and anyone could...
