Yes it does, I put a meter on mine the other week and marked North. When I get home tonight I can let you know.

Re: I've broken networking

All fixed now, it looks like the upgrade to Jessie had not been completed. I logged in over a serial connection and obtained an IP address with sudo dhclient -r eth0 sudo dhclient eth0 Then once I had networking back up I did sudo apt-get update sudo dpkg --configure -a sudo apt-get -f install sudo ...

The router is fine, all other dhc devices have an IPv4 address. This is a config problem with this specific Pi.

SOLVED - I've broken networking

I have a Pi2 which I recently upgraded from Wheezy to Jessie, all seemed to go well, but my networking is now broken. I cannot get eth0 to work at all. I can get an ssh connection via wifi but I cannot ping out. I really do not want to reinstall the Pi, can anyone help me get the networking up and r...

Have you followed the picamera installation instructions on this page https://picamera.readthedocs.org/en/rel ... tall3.html?

It might be worth undoing tie rpi-update as recommended.

Try this and report back..

Re: Making a 24/7 Video recording

Ok, so looks like we are getting somewhere, It now looks like your video is being converted. I added in camera.close() in line 36, I think this was a mistake, since we never create another picamera object. Remove this line and try again. We should just be able to call 'start_recording()' and 'stop_...

Ah yes, you are correct. I jumped to that since I had an issue with Cron where the wifi was not up.

I suspect it is crashing when if cannot find an IP address, before the networking has got up and running. Try adding in a delay before the loop of 10 seconds, or detect when there is no IP address and pass.

I also try to use repeat function in "print1", it works. And even I didn't use repeat on "do" function, it still gets this error. Ok, I think we are getting there, the thing about debugging is careful reading of the error messages. They may look like nonsense but they contain va...

You do not say if this works or not, but I guess it does not. In line 50 you call picamera picamera.PiCamera().start_recording('/home/pi/Desktop/16h-vid/'+tn+'.h264') but 'tn' has not been defined yet. You have refered to it in line 15, but it is commented out #datetime ''' timenow=datetime.datetime...

The RPI red LED stays lit consistently, would you elaborate on this video output? If the red light is on the Pi is getting power and therefore working, since it worked when powered by the USB cable from the computer. If it is on a network and the only Pi on the network you could try pinging it to s...

And the connector, since some will be provided without connector. Maybe I'm being a bit picky, but something either meets the specs or doesn't. Alex, I totally agree, it's NOT a HAT. But until the Foundation revise the spec or issue a new one for the PiZero, this discussion is never going to end. U...

Re: PiZero IoT HAT (bluetooth+wifi for $9)

It goes like this... :D Ok I'm being a troll, but it's not a HAT. It's actually a bugger to get an add-on board to be a HAT in terms of design and cost (those wee chips etc), so it's only right to respect that and go for "add-on board". I'm not sure the majority of buyers care either way ...
